2 Corinthians 5:14-15, 17
Just about everybody remembers the classic, time-honored fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast; In that story, a very beautiful young woman takes her father’s place at a castle that happens to be the home of a ferocious beast; But throughout the course of the story, the beauty sees the true heart of the beast, and then the beast soon begins to have a change of heart while beginning to love her. But then the beauty goes away and the beast is heartbroken, but when the beauty comes back and tells the dying beast how much she loves him, the beast suddenly turns into a handsome royal prince, and soon they began to live happily ever after…
Now, although it is such a very nice story, we often wonder if we ourselves could ever change-Not from the outside, but from the inside as well…Indeed, we are living in a world in which some people just simply have no love in their hearts, no real, true feelings, no real care for the most important things in this life, such as family and government. Yes, it is a very gut-wrenching world indeed, but we should not have to face this dark, cruel world alone, and we should definitely not have to live with a cold heart and an uncaring soul. Do you want to know how your very own heart can change in an instant? In order for our Lord God to show His love for us, even though we were still sinners, He has sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as payment for your sins and my sins, both in the past and in the present, therefore giving us real peace.
“For Christ Himself has brought peace to us…in His own body on the cross, He broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations…Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death…Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.” (Ephesians 2:14-16, 18, NLT)
Yes, my dearest friends-Your heart can certainly be changed if you repent of your sins and believe that Christ Jesus died on the cross for your sins; Then, through a relationship with God by the salvation that has been won for us by Jesus, you can have the most blessed assurance that you have been saved while you can have the most blessed peace that you have been longing for so long; And not only that, your old life, your old, sinful life, has been crucified with Christ! “Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we all have died to our old life. He(Jesus) died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them…This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15, 17, NLT)
Yes, that is right…When you give your heart to Jesus Christ, the One who has taken your place as punishment for you, then you will have a brand, new life!
Perhaps you or someone you know is going through times of either sorrow or uncertainty right now, and have been needing a certain kind of peace that they have been craving throughout all of their lives…Well, dear friends, let me tell you something: You won’t find peace in drugs…You will not even find peace in alcohol, gambling, or even that wretched, disgusting thing known as pornography! They may give you temporary relief, but all they will ever give you is even more sorrow, pain, and despair! My friends, please hear me out right now: The only way that you can ever have true, lasting peace is by THE CROSS, the cross of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, who has shed His precious blood for you and for me, washing all of our sins clean away, so that we could all be saved; Then Jesus has been raised from the dead by our Heavenly Father, defeating death as He went out of that cold, dark tomb, so that all of us could have the most blessed hope of life eternal.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.” (Romans 3:23-25, NLT)
And now, my dearest friends, are you ready to have your hearts changed because of what Jesus Christ has done for you on the cross for your sins by giving your very own heart to Him? Then I ask that you please pray this very important prayer with me: “Oh, Dearest Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am a poor, miserable sinner. I have ultimately sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. I believe that You have died on the cross for my sins, and that You have been raised from the dead on the third day, defeating death as You had gone out of the tomb, so that I could very well have eternal life. I urgently and heartily ask that You please forgive me of all my sins, and to please come into my heart, so I could follow You always as my personal Savior. I thank You so very much for making the most ultimate sacrifice in order to save me. In Your most holy and most blessed name I pray. Amen.”
If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would very much like to welcome YOU into God’s Great, Big Family! Now, the very next thing that you need to do now that you are a follower of Jesus Christ would be to read God’s Most Blessed Word, the Holy Bible, each and every day of your life; And then, I strongly urge you to go to a good, Christian church each and every Sunday of your life, so that you can always be ready to worship, praise, and to thank our Lord God for sending His only Son to die for you. I very much hope and pray that you make this most important choice of your life by changing your heart and giving it to Jesus Christ, while following Him today, for always. Until the very next time, may the Lord God bless you richly.
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
