“Well, goll-lee, it’s sure kinda fuzzy there…”

Well, did you folks spent yesterday trying to figure out this mystery? You haven’t? Well, that’s OK, because I am about to reveal the big answer to this big mystery of “WHAT ARE THOSE?”, and so without further ado, here it is:

Yes, these are the television stations, and they happen to come from a certain little city that is known as Philadelphia, my former home; KYW-TV & WCAU-TV have both switched affiliations-KYW, once an NBC station, is now a CBS station, while WCAU, once a CBS station, is now an NBC station. Now, three independent stations are still around, and they are: WTXF-TV, now a FOX affiliate, WPHL-TV, and what used to be WGBS-TV is now WPSG-TV, and the latter is now a CW affiliate. The other Philadelphia independent station in which it is not around anymore happens to be WKBS-TV, Channel 48 to be exact, which was signed on the air on September 1st, 1965, and had signed off for good on August 30th, 1983.
Philadelphia also used to have two public television stations-WHYY-TV and WNJS-TV, the latter being a part of the New Jersey-based New Jersey Network; That, along with NJN itself, went off the air on June 30th, 2011, which happens to be six years ago.

And finally, there just happens to be only one Philadelphia television station that is still around and is still going strong after over 6 decades, in spite of the fact that it had changed call letters as well as ownership, and that happens to be good ‘ol WPVI-TV, which officially went on the air in September of 1947 and is still going strong to this very day, even though its call letters had changed from WFIL to WPVI, and that had once owned by Capital Cities is now owned by Disney(while yours truly wonders if that famed 6 logo would ever wear a Mickey Mouse hat).
I would like to thank all of you bloggers and blog followers out there for playing this all-new puzzle feature, “WHAT ARE THOSE?”; Hopefully, I shall have another puzzle in the near future, but in the meantime, we return now to our regularly scheduled blog…
